Emotion, Color, and Quilts: Students used Microsoft Word to create a quilt design inspired by the work of Gee’s Bend that expresses a specific emotion through use of shape, color, and repeat pattern.
Zimbabwe Animal Information Poster
Based on "I Will Always Write Back" (One Book One School 2016-2017 selection).
Students researched an animal from Zimbabwe and created a poster that included habitat, behavior, and diet information about their subject. Posters were created using Word's Publishing Layout View. Students learned how to find and use high-resolution images, incorporate text, correctly cite information and image sources, honed research skills, and successfully worked with graphic editing tools. Images were taken from multiple online sources and combined to create a cohesive informational poster.

Based on "Endangered" (One Book One School 2014-2015 selection).
Students researched an animal or plant from the Democratic Republic of Congo and created an informational poster that included habitat, diet, behavior, etc. about their subject.
