Emotion, Color, and Quilts
Students used Microsoft Word to create a quilt design inspired by the work of Gee’s Bend that expresses a specific emotion through use of shape, color, and repeat pattern.
Objectives (students will):
1. Learn how to insert, color, and rotate basic shapes using Microsoft Word.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of the quilts and historical relevance of Gee’s Bend.
3. Explore ideas about community.
4. Use shape and color to express an emotion.
5. Be able to identify examples of the applied arts.
6. Understand the definition and use of repeat pattern.
